Wamego Students Shine on 2025 State Assessments

Posted Date: 9/09/25 (2:48 PM)

Dear USD 320 Families,
We are proud to share great news from this year’s Kansas Assessment Program (KAP)! Our students continue to show growth and achievement thanks to their hard work, the dedication of our staff, and the support of families like yours. These results also reflect our Strategic Plan's focus on Student Success, where students take ownership, aim for the next level, and elevate their learning.

A few highlights:

  • ELA: 3rd graders scored well above the state average, and 7th graders had more students reaching the top levels than the state.
  • Math: 4th graders had fewer students scoring at the lowest level, and 8th graders scored above the state average.
  • Science: Both 5th and 8th graders scored above the state, with more students performing at higher levels.
We are encouraged by these results, but we also recognize that we still have important work ahead to ensure every student is successful. That is the heart of One Wamego—continuously striving to elevate learning and move every child forward.

The full KAP reports for ELA, Math, and Science are attached if you would like to review the detailed results.

Thank you for partnering with us and for supporting our students every step of the way.

Respectfully,
Scott Meitler
